Competencies and Rubrics

TCU assesses four essential Core Curriculum learning outcomes. Each competency has a shared institutional rubric, a rotating assessment schedule, and a faculty assessment committee.

How the Rubrics Are Used

Faculty assessors, rather than individual course instructors, score sampled student work through a juried assessment process. Instructors may adapt a Core rubric for their courses, but they are not required to use it as their course-grading rubric.
